    Come join HR Strategy Forum for our quarterly Community Conversations. This forum has been created for HR Practitioners to network, share ideas and leverage one another to solve some of the most pressing topics you and your organizations are facing. As we continue into 2021, reimagining the workplace, continuing to engage our workforce in creative ways and meeting the needs of our leaders, customers and employees will require us to stay agile and continue to navigate uncharted waters to shape the future of work. These quarterly conversations among your peers will be an opportunity to explore a current challenge, share ideas, and support each other.

    Please join us for our second session that will focus on HR Burnout. For most HR leaders 2020 was one of the most stressful years of our careers, we seemed to jump from crisis to crisis with a tremendous amount of pressure placed on us and our people teams. While exciting to lead through uncharted territory of a global pandemic while also addressing social & equity issues, it has taken a toll.

    We tend to focus on employee well being but what are we doing to address burnout in our selves and our HR teams? Come explore how burnout is showing up in our teams and what steps we can take to help reenergize our ourselves. In this Community Conversation let’s discuss with our peers the following:

    • Are you feeling any burnout? Is your HR team feeling burnout?

    • What are some challenges you are facing with burnout?

    • Are you seeing increased attrition in your HR teams?

    • What steps are you taking to address HR burnout?

    The community conversation will take place from 12-1pm PT with the option to keep the conversation going until 1:30pm PT.

    If asked what keeps us up at night in 2021, many HR leaders and corporate executives will say it is culture.  As we plan for the future, we have to determine which of the changes we were forced to make in 2020 will continue and become new operating norms.  These decisions will impact company culture and we need to make sure it does so in a positive way.

    Traditionally culture has been built and reinforced by systems, routines and environments and relied on in-person interactions.  This allowed for the nuances of context clues and subtle behavioral cues that are difficult to pick up in a virtual environment.  As many organizations plan for more hybrid environments in the future, it is critical to plan new ways to reinforce the culture of the organization.

    How will we onboard new employees to the culture in this new environment?  How do we ensure remote employees stay on a level playing field with their colleagues in the office?  How do we help employees balance their work and personal lives?  What cultural norms will have to change?  What role do company leaders play?  What role do front-line managers play? How will the office environment need to change to support these cultural changes?

    Organizations will look to their HR teams to lead them through this process of evolving our cultures.  Join us on May 19th for a dynamic and interactive conversation about these topics and how top CHRO’s are thinking about them.  Laura Selig of ModelN and Liane Hornsey of Palo Alto Networks will share what they’ve learned about building and maintaining a great culture, what’s changed since the pandemic and answer your questions as you are thinking about culture at your organizations.

    Liane Hornsey is widely recognized as one of the world’s pre-eminent practitioners in people operations as well as organizational and leadership development.  She is currently EVP and Chief People Officer at Palo Alto Networks, a multinational publically traded cybersecurity company with approximately 10,000 employees globally.  She previously served as Chief People Officer at Uber Technologies, Inc. where she led the transformation of the culture during a period of significant turbulence.  She has also served as Chief Administrative Officer and Operating Partner at SoftBank Group International and led People Operations at Google’s Global Business.  Liane also serves on the board of BUILD, a nonprofit organization that provides real-world entrepreneurial experience to empower youth from under-resourced communities to excel in education, lead in their communities and succeed professionally.

    Laura Selig is currently Chief People Office at Model N, the leading provider of revenue management solutions for the life sciences and technology industries supporting business needs for world leading brands (i.e. Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, etc) across 120 countries .  Model N has 1200 employees globally.   Laura is passionate in her knowledge that best-in-class cultures drive the most successful companies.  She is a dynamic leader that has instilled that passion in the world-class HR teams that she has built who strive every day to make a positive impact on employee experience.  Laura possesses a BA degree in Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  She has worked in companies including Visa, Inc; Couchbase, a leading provider of an award-winning distributed NoSQL cloud database; and SnapLogic, a global leader in self-service integration.
