Shreya Sarkar-Barney, Ph.D. is the CEO and founder of Human Capital Growth (HCG), a firm that helps organizations achieve better talent outcomes using science, analytics, and empathy. In 2016, HCG was featured among the Top 10 Talent Analytics firms by HRTech Magazine. Before starting Human Capital Growth, Shreya led global leadership development at Levi Strauss & CO., and organizational effectiveness Dendrite International (now QuintelesIMS). While at Dendrite, she led the development of the enterprise-wide talent management systems for which she was recognized by the Human Capital award of the year.
Shreya has taught at Illinois Institute of Technology, University of Hartford, and the University of California, Berkeley. Her research has been published in the International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction, Information Technology & People, Organizational Research Methods, and Personnel Assessment and Decisions. She is also the author of the book “The role of national culture in transfer of training” based on an empirical study covering 49 countries. She earned her masters and Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Bowling Green State University. She is also an alumnus of the University of California Entrepreneurship Academy.
