Stop Managing Performance. Start Enabling It.
Based on research presented in her new book, Performance Enablement, Edie Goldberg, Ph.D., will share a new, more humanistic and effective model for unleashing individual and organizational performance, backed by scientific research. Simply put, today’s employees don’t need to be “managed,” they want to be inspired, supported, and developed to perform their best.
This session is not about new tactics; it's a paradigm shift to supporting employees in today’s dynamic business environment. In the words of Dr. John Boudreau, “They transform performance from a transactional compliance exercise into a dynamic process that builds direction, alignment, support, and progress.” Participants will be given access to an assessment tool to help them understand where they are on the journey toward performance enablement.
In this session, participants will learn:
- Why traditional performance management is not just broken but misaligned with how work gets done today.
- The critical shift from coercive control to enabling control and how it fundamentally changes how organizations drive performance.
- What performance enablement looks like in practice and how to assess where your organization stands today.
