Sonya L. Kemp partnered with the senior leaders of AltaMed Health Services in Commerce to provide strategic HR leadership and organization problem solving. With more than 20 years of progressively responsible positions for various established Fortune 500 and privately held organizations, Sonya has been instrumental developing and implementing people strategies that advance business objectives particularly in organizations facing enormous change.

Before joining AltaMed, Ms. Kemp was Vice President Human Resources for a high growth start up, True Partners Consulting in Chicago, Illinois. In this role she set the people strategy and supporting infrastructure for the firm, implemented health and welfare programs and developed the firm’s policies.

Prior positions include regional and corporate roles with Equity Office Properties, Northrop Grumman, Health Net, Comcast, Verizon and Travelers Insurance.

Ms. Kemp received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University and Master of Business Administration from the University of La Verne. She expects to impact future Human Resources professionals by serving as undergraduate adjunct faculty for the fall 2009 and winter 2010 terms at Loyola Marymount University.
