Peter
L. Levin, MBA, Ph.D.

Company
Peter Levin first joined RHR International in 1999 and was appointed to the
position of Managing Director of the Los Angeles office in 2003. In addition to
his current management position with responsibility for RHR consulting efforts
on the West Coast, he has over 20 years of experience as a leadership advisor
and coach, working with individuals, teams and organizations in the U.S. and
abroad. He advises Boards of Directors, CEOs, HR leaders, other top tier
executives and high potentials on their own, as well as their organizations’
leadership needs. His primary focus is on the CEO succession process. The
broader objectives of his work are improved governance, leadership, improved
leadership continuity and transitions, successful executive selection,
integration, development of key and high potential leaders, more effective
implementation of strategic and change initiatives. The bottom line of his work
is driving strategic execution, accelerating growth and profitability through
world-class leadership.
He has worked in the following industries: Telecommunications, Computer Hardware
and Software, High Tech., Biotechnology, Financial Services, Insurance, Retail,
Energy, Nuclear, Agriculture, Convenience Foods, Health Care, Pharmaceutical,
Manufacturing, Family and closely held businesses, Non-profits, Entertainment,
Government and the general services sector. He has experience working with
companies in the U.S., U.K., Europe, Australia and South East Asia. He has
worked with the top executives at start-ups, mid-sized, as well as Fortune 500
and Global 100 firms.
Immediately prior to his work with RHR he served as a senior executive with P&L,
and management responsibilities in another top leadership consulting and
organizational research firm. He also had 14 years previous experience as an
independent consulting psychologist in the healthcare field. He has held several
academic appointments including positions at Pepperdine University, the
University of Southern California, and the University of California, Irvine.
He was awarded his BA with high honors from the University of Southern
California. Peter also received his Ph.D. in psychology from USC. During his
training he received a full fellowship scholarship from the National Institute
of Mental Health. He later earned an MBA with academic distinction from
California State University, Long Beach.
Peter lives with his wife in San Juan Capistrano, California. They have three
grown children and one grandchild. His recreational interests include golf,
reading and flying as a private pilot.
