Fred Abbott is the managing principal of Towers Perrin’s San Francisco office. He oversees the delivery of all Towers Perrin services to our clients in Northern California, Northern Nevada and Hawaii, and also serves as a member of the firm’s U.S. West Region Leadership Team.

Fred has 25 years’ experience in helping clients align their HR programs and processes with their business and people objectives, including strategic design assignments for a number of Towers Perrin’s cornerstone clients. He has consulted primarily on human resources and total rewards strategy, with particular emphasis on the design, administration and financial planning of retirement and associated employee benefit programs. He also has supported his clients’ efforts to improve workforce effectiveness through data gathering, analytics and solution shaping.

Fred has provided consulting services to many major corporations including: Bridgestone Americas, Duke Energy, E. & J. Gallo Winery, Goodrich Corporation, McKesson Corporation, PG&E Corporation, RJR Tobacco, and Wachovia Corporation.

Fred graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Commerce (with honors) degree. He is a fellow of both the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.
